How to Run a Joint Workplace Campaign
IT’S AS EASY AS 1, 2, 3...
Once the decision has been made to expand your company’s workplace payroll investment campaign to more than one federation, conducting the campaign is as easy as 1, 2, 3. As an organization which can assist with your campaign, Community Health Charities Iowa offers these three easy steps...
STEP 1: Establish the campaign parameters
- Select the time the campaign will run (this can be as short as a week or as long as six weeks).
- Select the pledge form you want to use (Community Health Charities Iowa has a standard pledge card & brochure that we use for all of our campaigns. We are also willing to develop a form customized to your company’s individual needs).
STEP 2: Conduct the campaign
- Recruit a person in each department who is willing to extend an offer to each co-worker on their team; the goal should be a 100% personal ask (in other words everyone knows they have the opportunity to participate in this once-a-year annual employee/payroll investment campaign).
- Distribute Community Health Charities Iowa brochures and pledge cards simultaneously with other appeals. Most employers run their campaign between Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
- Hold a kick-off event to publicize the campaign. Gather interested employees for a short presentation from all federated organizations involved in the joint campaign.
- Follow-up with employees’ mid-way through the campaign.
STEP 3: Process the results
- Upon close of your campaign, collect the pledge forms and process payroll deductions as specified by the donor; prepare employee investments for pay-out (generally this is done monthly or quarterly).
- Turn pledge forms over to Community Health Charities Iowa which will process them and distribute funds based on the donor specifications as filled out on the form.
- Transmit payroll investment contributions to Community Health Charities Iowa on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis.
- Report the results to the employees so they know how much they have helped participating organizations through their generosity.
